Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation (VSEDC) was founded to inspire economic development and provide access to capital for underserved areas in South LA. Today, we provide core resources and tools to assist small business owners and entrepreneurs in South LA and beyond. Our services include business coaching, training, technical assistance and more.

What We Do

Access to Capital: A federal and state Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), VSEDC connects entrepreneurs with funding to launch and grow. We offer loans, grants, and financial counseling tailored to the needs of underserved businesses. To date, we’ve guided, taught, and advised over 26,000 enterprises and unlocked access to over $260 million in capital. 

Business Education: VSEDC offers workshops, seminars, and one-on-one mentorship on topics ranging from business plan development to marketing and financial management. 

Incubating Innovation: Our Business Enterprise Center in Chesterfield Square offers affordable workspace and shared resources, fostering a collaborative environment where new businesses can flourish. 

Technical Assistance: Our team helps entrepreneurs navigate the complexities of licensing, permits, and regulations, ensuring businesses operate smoothly and in compliance. 

Community Revitalization: We’ve played a pivotal role in developing major retail centers, affordable housing projects, and industrial complexes, bringing jobs and economic vitality to South LA.
